Notice of Investigation of CoreCivics, Inc. (CXW) Board – Shareholders Encouraged to Contact Us

Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jan. 8, 2017 — The Law Offices of Nicholas Koluncich III, LLC is continuing its investigation and analysis of private prison company CoreCivic, Inc. CXW (formerly “Corrections Corporation of America”).

CoverCivics already announced that the Department of Justice was discontinuing the use of its private prisons, citing concerns relating to the services provided. (See its Form 10Q, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 11, 2017). The August 18, 2016 publication of the DOJ memorandum ending the private prison contracts caused a precipitous stock slide of over $6.00 per share. A lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, captioned Grae v. Corrections Corporation of America et al., Case No. 3:16-cv-02267, alleging that the company’s financial statements were false and misleading as to the quality of its services, regulatory compliance, and the status of its governmental contracts. A Motion to Dismiss (a sort of “mini-trial” to assess the adequacy of the pleadings) was denied by the Court and the case is proceeding.
